In a small town in 1942 California, Lolita Sierra waits loyally for Benny Martin while charming schemer Joe Morales courts her. Dismissed as a troublemaker, Benny fights a war while townspeople shun his father, Charley, for his son's offenses. When word comes that Benny is dead and will be awarded the Medal of Honor, Lolita and Charley face a town eager to celebrate the hero it once rejected. © 1945 Universal Studios. All Rights Reserved.
