The Ritz Brothers team up in Behind the Eight Ball, a wacky musical comedy about a team of jesters hired on to entertain in a theater and help solve a murder. When the Shady Ridge Summer Theater is at risk of closing after two back-to-back murders of star acts, owner Joan Berry (Carole Bruce) encourages her partner to find a replacement and the Jolly Jesters seem to perfectly fit the bill. After becoming a smash hit, the group of entertainers naively discovers an undercover spy ring.
